Parentalk
NE Lincs
Ever since the appointment of Diane Briggs as Parentalks
Volunteer Regional Rep, theres always been quite a lot going on with Parentalk in
NE Lincs. But a funding award from the Parenting Fund in 2004 meant
that Parentalk's presence in this area
has been growing significantly.
And now Parentalk is proud to announce that we have been successful in our application to the Parenting Fund this year. This means our work can continue in NE Lincs plus in 3 new regions – Southwark, Norfolk and Peterborough – to deliver our new Parentalk Transitions Programme.
This funding means that our NE Lincs staff are able to offer increased help and support to parents living in the area, with a particular emphasis on parents of children with special educational needs and parents of children with disabilities.
Why NE Lincs?
NE Lincs ranks amongst the 20% most deprived local authority districts and lone parent households make up 27% of families. In addition six children are suspended every day and permanent exclusions have reached record levels. Teenage pregnancy rates are the second highest in the country.
