Janice Fixter:

Janice Fixter has been a director of Parentalk since 2001. She has written 'The Parentalk Guide to Being a Mum' and co-written 'How to Succeed as a Single Parent' with Diane Louise Jordan. She writes articles on a wide range of parenting issues - from babies to teenagers - and has been interviewed on the radio and television. Janice writes a weekly column for the Parentalk website which looks at the more quirky aspects of family life. She has a BA in Psychology and MA in Creative Writing, the Arts and Education and a D.Phil. in Creative Writing. She has three children at secondary school and a fourth at university.

Catherine Ellerby:

Catherine Ellerby has worked with Parentalk since taking a career break from her job as an NHS communications manager in 2000 after the birth of her third child.

Catherine contributed to the book How to Succeed as a Working Parent and co-wrote The Parentalk Guide to Secondary School which was published in September last year.  Having decided not to return to full time work, Catherine is based at home managing family life and enjoying the challenges and experiences of parenting four children aged from 15 months to 12 years.

She is a freelance writer for Parentalk and assists with PR and publicity for various Parentalk initiatives. Married to Paul, they live in North London.

Daphne Clifton:

Daphne Clifton is an Executive Business Coach and single parent of a teenage son, Daphne is passionate about improving communication and understanding between parents, children and schools. A Director of Parentalk since its launch in 1998, Daphne regularly acts as a Radio "Agony Aunt" on the subject of parenting, having appeared on LBC and Premier Christian Radio. John Byrne, a broadcaster and columnist from The Stage newspaper has commented, ''Daphne Clifton has a gift for expressing common sense ideas in a warm, motivating and very practical style...and can adapt that style to suit any target readership''

Dr John Tripp:

Dr John Tripp is a paediatrician with a special interest in adolescent
medicine. After training and doing a higher degree at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, John went on to become a general paediatrician working as a Senior Lecturer in Child Health at the Peninsula Medical School and as a Consultant Paediatrician of the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust. His major research interest is now in behaviourally effective sex education (APAUSE www.pms.ac.uk/apause) and jointly published a major report on the effects of family breakdown on children in the early 1990s (The Exeter Family Study). He remains actively involved in the evaluation of couple support and parenting interventions. Until recently, John was a director of Parentalk and has played a vital role in the development of the charity since the initial research in 1998. John has two grown up children and two grandsons.

Kate Daymond:

Kate Daymond is the author of the Parentalk Guide to Sleep. She has a MSc in Community Care and is a health visitor of some fifteen years' experience. Kate has a wealth of knowledge in parental issues for the under fives and she specialises in sleep, potty training and feeding battles. She is also trained in child health issues, child protection and development, parental relationships including postnatal depression. Kate and her husband Nick have two children who are in the middle of their primary education.

Lorraine Thomas:

Lorraine is the UK's leading Parent Coach as featured in The Sunday Times, the Daily Mail, You magazine, The Times, the Guardian, the Independent, Junior, BBC Parenting, Real, FQ and on ITV's This Morning. She writes a regular monthly column for the top national magazine, Practical Parenting. Lorraine gave up a career as a successful television executive to train as a coach and establish the UK's first Parent Coaching Academy. She is committed to supporting Parentalk and delivers the Parentalk Parent Coaching workshops. Lorraine is married with two young children and a teenage stepson.

Patrick Fleming:

Patrick Fleming is the Chairman of Parentalk. He spent nearly twenty years of his career with Cadbury Schweppes where he held senior executive positions in finance and general management before retiring in 2001. He is currently chief executive of an international consulting firm and is a non-executive director of a fair trade company based in the UK. He has two grown up daughters who are currently at university.

Jim Harding:

Jim Harding is a former Chief Executive of the NSPCC and he worked with children and families, in one capacity or another, for 35 years before retiring in 2000. He now works with a number of charities, works as a mentor to Chief Executives, is active in his church and writes when he can. Jim is a grandparent four times over.

Chris Foster:

Chris Foster is a director of Parentalk. He runs a farming business with his wife Christine and they are involved in their church community and other charities. Chris is a trained counsellor and enjoys talking with people. He has been used as an 'Agony Uncle' in the mainstream press. Chris has two adult sons and therefore has a wealth of experience in being a dad, surviving the university years and no longer winning any sporting contests against them.
