Sheila Ferguson Biography
Sheila Ferguson has made a very successful transition from being the celebrated lead singer of the legendary Three Degrees whose numerous hits including the classic 'When Will I See You Again?' earned them no fewer than 28 gold and silver records worldwide, to reaching a whole new generation of fans as an accomplished solo recording artist, stage actress and TV performer in her own right.
Television appearances abound on both sides of the Atlantic. Sheila has chatted with Des O'Connor, Terry Wogan, and Michael Parkinson in the UK and appeared with US TV legends such as Johnny Carson and Redd Foxx in Sandford and Son as well as displaying her guts and resilience as a castaway in the top rated I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here show. She has also more than held her own on cutting edge comedy shows like ''Never Mind the Buzzcocks'' and youth shows such as Dick and Dom on CBeebies.
Sheila's sitcom 'Land of Hope and Gloria' was the first to star a black female lead in UK. Sheila's West End performances include Always, Soul Train, Thoroughly Modern Millie and the internationally successful touring show Oh! What a Night and her first solo album A New Kind of Medicine won rave reviews in the national press.
Sheila has been active in the Music Industry as a director of PAMRA, has also been a judge at the RIMA (Race in the Media Awards) and is a patron of the National Parenting Charity, Parentalk.
During April 2006, Sheila appeared on Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire and won £16,000 for Parentalk. See more...
